TestDive Conference 2024 presentation: „Hiring testers with disabilities – pros and cons.„

To test accessibility of software product in a right way you have to involve end users who will benefit from your efforts – testers with different kinds of disabilities. We work with visually, hearing, mobility and speech impaired testers on a day-to-day basis.  Assuming that you care about accessibility of your application you should try it as well. During this presentation we will show practical aspect of hiring handicapped testers – the real value you get from this, challenges one can encounter and solutions for most of the problems. 

This story will be presented from two perspectives:  

1. Seasoned Test Manager Dariusz will describe the process of establishing the accessibility focused company from Finance, HR, Operations and QA perspectives.  

1. Co-founder and Chief Accessibility Officer Dawid will share his perspective on challenges related to learning testing skills, working with the customers, collaborating with the team in the office and on-line, estimating and executing projects from blind tester point of view. 

Our goal is to remove all mental, physical and formal barriers which make testing teams afraid of hiring handicapped team members.
